Victorian Steampunk

The third creation for the Sassy Studio Designs Progressive Challenge.

This round we go Victorian with the fabulous Victoria! I picked my pencils, in burgundy & deep red and then googled some Victorian colours. My eyes fell on a black and blue outfit, and that is how Victoria got her colours. I decided to add some copper, rather than gold.

Well here she is:

And a little closer:

Well, I've made it before midnight! VBG. Not many minutes to spare.
I'll make another Victoria in all those burgundies and deep reds tomorrow, but now I think it's bedtime after I've linked her to the challenge!

PS. Now in the morning (being more awake :) I see my card could have been a bit more Victorian or vintage...but I still like it the way it is. The other one will be more elaborate!

Steampunk Two!

It's the second round of the Progressive Challenge at Sassy Studio Designs.
The challenge is to use a clock(s) and/or gear(s) together with Amelia Steampunk.

I decided to make a background of clocks and an hourglass using images from Graphic Fairy.

I printed it out at 50%, I also printed out a single pocket watch that I cut out. Amelia was coloured with pencils and blended. I added a bit of Gelly Roll. It is 2 o'clock in the morning so I might see a spot or 2 that I missed tomorrow, but the card has to be added to be part of the challenge...:)
Well, here she is:

And here in close-up.

Hope you like her!

Little Pink Witch

Another card for the Digistamps4Joy Challenge #29:

I used the cute little witch that was a bonus at the CDAC Progressive challenge. I decided to make her into a sweet little pink witch:

And here is a close-up:

Yes, the spider is pinkish too!

Friends Think Pink

Challenge #29 at Digistamps4Joy is Think pink for breast cancer awareness.

I used a Digistamp4joy Freebie to make my card:

I'm also adding my card to the following:

Pink Steampunk

When I started I couldn't stop, so I created another card for the Sassy Studio Designs Progressive Challenge:

This time I used pink and black and silver. I think this card is more steampunk but I still have some way to go...
My metal is the brads.

A close up:

Hope you like her!

Sassy Steampunk in Blue

Sassy Studio Designs has a progressive challenge going to celebrate their 500 members on Papercraft Planet.

The first fabulous freebie is Steampunk Josephine, the challenge is to add a metal embellishment to the card and finish it in 2 days.

This is my first try, not very steampunk but enough metal. I used staples to fix my background to my card. I added a recycled piece of metal. VBG

Here is a close up of the image:

Hope you like her! She was fun to colour.

Pink Power

It's time to 'Show your Stuff' at Create with TLC. The challenge was to make a card with items posted in the past 2 weeks.

I just loved this little bird the moment I saw her, so I had to make this card. I used a background of rose paper, punched the corners, coloured the edges and the little bird & ribbon. I did some layering and added some glitter & bling.

And a close-up:

Hope you like her!

Windblown...

Another mystical advertisement from CSDesigns, this time 'The Crypt'.

My card tells a little story. The flyer was found blown against a fence. It was a little torn, a little crumpled, a little smudged...was it blood...or just mud?

Do visit Art with no Boundaries for some more fabulously creepy creations.

I'll continue my little story later in the week, so pop in again.

Classified!

Week two of Mystical/Halloween at Art with no Boundaries!

The talented Chris of CSDesigns has created a new batch of fabulously creepy, scary, mystical images, many of them adverts for weird and wonderful things....

I've used Stylish Witch Salon Advert for my first creation:

I went through my newspaper's classified section to find an ad of similar size, copied it. The original ad was cut out after adding the circle.  I layered my image onto black card stock, added some chalk and red pen and distressing...

List of Supplies
CSDesign Image printed on white 160g paper
Paper used: Newspaper (Local), white 160g, Black card & cardstock.
Red & black fineliner, mustard & red chalk
Cutter & scissors, cutting board, double-sided tape

The list was added to show that you can make a card with the simplest of tools and supplies and a bit of imagination.

I think this will make a cool invitation to a pamper party or a bachelorette's party. What do you think?

Scary Metal

Today I'm sharing another card using Psychosis, an image from CSDesigns.

I used wrapping paper with a stripy design, tore it in strips and glued it to my card. I then distressed it a bit. The roses were rolled with metallic paper and I added some brads to complete the theme.

And here is a close-up of the roses:
Hope you like my card!

Do hop over to Art with no Boundaries for some more scary cards...and don't forget to leave some love!

I'm entering my card in the following Challenges :

It's October!

It's that time of the year when scary things are creeping out of the woodwork.

Halloween is not celebrated here in South Africa, but in the spirit of the season (pun intended) I have created a few cards using one of the new Halloween Images from CSDesigns.

Here is the first card using Psychosis:

And here is a scary close-up:

Hope you are not too scared to come back tomorrow to see what else I have created.

And don't forget to join us at Art with No Boundaries for the month of October!

Sunflower and butterfly

I love sunflowers and butterflies and this wonderful digi by Justinklined combines both.

Here is my fourth entry in the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge Round #3:

I kept it simple but just had to 3D the butterfly:

Hope you like it!

Purple Tag

This time I made a tag for my third entry in the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge Round #3.

I used the little lady by Liastampz. The tag reminds of the Red Hat Society and the autumn of life. Sounds much more colourful than the winter of life!

Here is a close-up:

Hope you like her!

Autumn Fairy

I used the Autumn Fairy by Gurukitty Designs for my second card in the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge Round #3.

My choice of colours were browns and some purples. I added a bit of glitter foil and some bling.

A close-up to show the glitter bits.

Hope you like her!

Duo Challenge September

Rather late than never, my little gift box for the September Duo Challenge #9:

My box was made with Scrapbook paper & decorated with organza ribbon and a flower made with a cut-out motif, cardstock and a blingy brad.

This is a lovely box for those small gifts.

Round 3 - Autumn

My first card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge Round 3.

I used the bowl of apples by Glitterbabes. I love apples and these looked juicy.
I kept the colours simple, basically primary colours with a bit of brown for the wood. My autumn lettering is my own, foiled with red & bronze. The woven ribbon adds a bit of texture and continues the rustic feel.

A close up of my bowl of apples:

And my writing:

The Red Leaf

Second week of the Autmn/Fall challenge at Art with no Boundaries.
My card has another of Fall sentiment by CSDesigns as main focus. Although it has more than 1 layer, it is a clean and simple card, red and white with a touch of black. I punched leaves from the same red paper as my center panel and also some white ones from cardstock.

It is also a card to pay tribute to the fabulous talent of Chris, the artist behind CSDesigns, who lives in Canada. Hope you like it, Chris!

My layout was inspired by Unscripted Sketches #125.

Autumn Leaves

It's time again for a new challenge at Art with No Boundaries.
The theme is Fall or Autumn.

I made this card using a new sentiment by CSDesigns especially for fall. My layout was inspired by Unscripted Sketches #124.

And here is a close-up:

I love paper punching and here you can see when I start, it's difficult to stop...
I also did a bit of foiling and added some chalk, another favourite.

Hope you like my autumn card. Autumn is really my favourite season!

Anything goes week 2

It's the second week of Anything Goes at Art with No Boundaries. I decided to play with my Solitaire Leather and Rivets, but I went blingy.

I like the mix of fuchsia and black with a touch of silver and white almost as much as I like red and black:

Here is a close-up for you to enjoy all the bling I've added!

Hope you like it! A little different than my usual style.

I've entered my card in following fun challenge:

A card for all Seasons

Nana Vic's generously supplied a fabulous Seasons freebie on CDAC for the Vickie Quickie Challenge.

I decided to cut up the images and layer them on different shades of green to add one of the elements in the Desert Islands Craft Challenge (no9). The image already has a nature theme (no 7), and I added some extra leaves. I 'lifted' my 2 favourite seasons with foam tape to add extra dimension (no5). Although not quite Kraft, the card can go through for no 1 as well.

Hope you like my creation!

I'm joining a few other challenges too:

Masquerade in Blue

I couldn't resist making another ATC using one of my Blog Hop Freebies from Sassy Design Studios. This time around I chose Masquerade 4 and dressed her in blue. I added some silwer, some glitter and a touch of bling. And some Gelly Roll accents.

Looks like she is ready to party!

I'm entering my ATC in the fun challenge at ATC Sisterhood. It is shades of Blue. I have some silver & white too, so I hope it is ok.

Sassy Pink Masquerade

Last Saturday there was a blog Hop at Sassy Studio Designs. On each of the blogs there was a fabulous freebie and a few extras during the day long party! The last part of the party was a challenge to create a project with one of the 7 sassy images. The theme is 'Masquerade Ball' and we have to add bling, feathers or sequins (or all 3).

Well, here is my first ATC using Masquerade 3. I coloured her dress with pink and added bling. I also added some shiny paper and some more bling. And my gelly roll....

The background paper has images of buildings on it. Doesn't she look ready to paint the town pink?

CDAC Progressive Round 2

It's round 2 of the CDAC Progressive challenge and we received our next fabulous freebies, all five of them.

I've completed my first project for this round. I decided to make a corner bookmark:

I used the little bookworm from Jensdigistamps.

Hope you like it!

Simon Says Anything Goes

My project for the Simon Says Stamp-tember Challenge is an Autumn Tag.
The theme is 'Anything Goes'. Hop on over, there might still be time left to do the blog hop and stand in line for some fabulous treasures.

The sentiment is from Sherlock's Home. I lighty chalked the sentiment and coloured the leaves with chalk as well.
The background leaf is a Poetic Print from Hero Arts.
A Marvy Punch was used to punch the leaves from different papers and paint chips.

I'm adding my tag to the following fun challenges:
http://pictureandscrap.blogspot.com/2011/09/utfordring-15.html
