Give Me Five!

Welcome!

It is a new week and a new challenge over at The Cheerful Stamp Pad!

This week the theme is "Give Me Five".

This is such a broad theme and all that is asked is that you show a foot, a hand, a paw, a claw or even just fingers! Use your imagination and join the challenge.

Our sponsor this week is Meljen's Designs. She has such a lovely selection of images in her store. Do make sure that you visit there!

My little card was made to look like children's art. The Humpty Dumpty was coloured with pencils, blended and then cut out. The background on the little card was done with pastel chalks. A red fine liner was used to write my message on the little flag!

Hope this will bring a smile to someone's face!

Hope to see you at the challenge!!

Differently Distressed

I enjoy working with the designs from CSDesigns.

The challenge at Craft your Passion Challenges caught my eye : Torn or Distressed edges.
I love doing both, so I had to whip up a card today to still enter the challenge.

Distress always makes me think of vintage, and how much more vintage can you go than a mummy?

So here is my torn and distressed edges card:

I used the Solitaire Mummified / Ribbons to create my card. I used some kraft paper that I torn and crumpled The card is kraft board as well. Gold paper torn is strips was used as a second layer. I used various stamp pads to colour and distress the card. Pencils and soft pastel was used to colour the image & sentiment. My gelly roll pen added the final bit of glamour to the mummy. The sentiment is also from CSDesigns.

The first part of the current challenge at ArtWithNoBoundaries is Anything Goes. I'm adding my card for some more inspiration from the DT, hope it inspires you!

Anything Goes at AWNB!

Welcome!

A new week, a new challenge at Art with No Boundaries! The theme this week is Anything Goes.
This is such a wonderful chance for expressing yourself, making that card that doesn't fit in any current challenge!

I made a fancy fold card using autumn browns, oranges, yellows and golds, Solitaire / Swirl and Monocle and the True Beauty Sentiment.

The outside of the card:

The card opened:

I chalked the image and added some Jelly Roll. The background was sponged with chocolate ink and gold paint. The various triangles were stamped with background stamps, and then sponged.

The sentiment was also sponged. A pretty gold ribbon bow finishes off the card.

I hope my card inspires you to join the challenge!

Autumn Leaves

It's time again for a new challenge at Art with No Boundaries.
The theme is Fall or Autumn.

I made this card using a new sentiment by CSDesigns especially for fall. My layout was inspired by Unscripted Sketches #124.

And here is a close-up:

I love paper punching and here you can see when I start, it's difficult to stop...
I also did a bit of foiling and added some chalk, another favourite.

Hope you like my autumn card. Autumn is really my favourite season!

New Sentiments

As part of the design team, we could play with them before the launch.
You have already seen one here.

My creation with another of the fabulous set is a wall hanging for a new home:

I kept it simple with earthy autumn colours and some fabulous trim I found at the haberdashery department of my favourite fabric shop. I also added some velvet ribbon. The frame is made out of balsa wood that I stained with a stamppad. Some chalk was added to the sentiment to tone down the white of the paper.

Hope you like it!

Happy Birthday TLC on CDAC

TLC is celebrating their first birthday on CDAC.
Paulette generously supplied images to help us join in the festivities by making a card.
The challenge is to supply our own sentiment.

I decided to go vintage with my card:

I used chalk and soft pastel to give colour to my picture and sentiment. I also added some more definition with my brown and gold stamp pads. The doilie was also chalked and layered onto some gold tissue paper. Three rhinestones add some glamour to the card.

Here is a close-up of the sentiment out of my pen.

Hope you like my creation!

Recycled Christmas

This week the theme at CSDesigns is 'Recycled Christmas Challenge'.
Recycling is one of the things I feel quite strongly about, and to find a way to use it in my crafts, opens up new possibilities.

The rule is : Recycle something from an old Christmas item, part of a card, paper, etc. I had trouble to find an old card, most of the cards I had were handmade beauties from friends. But I found one, still in its gold envelope! The big star on it, was too difficult to work with, although I'm still going to find a way....

I decided to go rustic. The texture print on the green matched the leather look brown card I had. I cut strips and edged them with a gold stamp pad. The gold stars were punched from the envelope. I used the Text Christmas Tree Ornament, that I edged in green and lightly chalked to fit in with the other colours. Ok, I confess, I added some Stardust Gelly roll to the tree. You cannot have Christmas without a bit of glitter.

Here is my take on some recycling:

And here is a close-up of my tree:

Hope you like my rustic card and that you will also recycle something and create something new.

I am going to enter my card in a few fun challenges. Here is my list:

Michelle Perkett release her Angels!

To celebrate all this there has been a party going since last Sunday over on Paper Craft Planet in her group.

On Sunday, we filled in a crossword puzzle and then had 1 hour to create a card with a Michelle Perkett sentiment.

1 hour!!
That is quite fast for me, I take one hour to decide which image to use....

I had some images and sentiments already printed out which made it so much easier to decide what to do!
Colouring?? Fastest, I decided will be chalks or pastels.....
The sentiment and image was fussy cut and this is what I came up with in UNDER an hour:

I still photographed it and posted it, under the hour...
Just shows what can be done.
Image is the fabulous Summer. The sentiment Imagine was a freebie.
Forgot to tell you that I added some glitter too....

But wait, that's not all, my card WON!
I could choose one of the angels. I chose the lovely, serene Peace.

There will be projects posted during the weekend to show what I made with her.

Pop on over and go and join in the fun!
