Framed Flower Tutorial

Welcome!

In a few easy steps, I want to show you how to make a framed flower card:

1. Print out your Striped Circular Petal Frame in a few sizes and colours.

2. Optional step: Colour your frames - I skiped this one.

3. Cut out the frames

4. Cut the petals loose and shape them by rolling over a pencil.

5. Cut stem from Diamond Dot Mini Background as well as mat for sentiment.

6. Add stem to narrow card, layer petals & add to stem. Add sentiment.

7. Fix rhinestone to flower and add some glitter glue. (Stickles)

8. Done!

And here's a close-up of the flower:

Hope you like my tutorial!

Can't wait to see your creations!

Framed Fashionista!

Welcome to my corner in the Craft Lane!

A new week, a new challenge at ArtWithNoBoundaries!

It is a double challenge again, the main theme Anything Goes.
The bonus Round for the next 2 weeks is : A Frame of Mind.
The challenge : use a frame, any kind of frame in your project.
The prize: A unique sentiment from Chris of CSDesigns!

Chris has been creating some new frames to go with the Express Yourself Series and the challenge for the DT was: think out of the box.

For some reason or another, my brain read 'box' and that is all I could think of...

I used the Striped Square Scallop Frame and cereal boxes to create my basic box. It was also used to create the floortile pattern. The Diamond Dot Mini Background was used for the right wall panel. Silver board gives the illusion of a mirror and a piece of white fabric and a black ribbon creates a curtain. The Lace Dress form was printed 3 times, coloured, cut out and made into a mannequin and positioned in the middle of the salon room.

Here is a selection of photos from different angles:

And if you wondered, I had tremendous fun making my little framed fashionista box!

Here you can find the lovely frames:

Reminder:
CSDesigns has a DTCall!
You can find all the details here!

I want to enter my creation in a few challenges:

My first challenge is the one at Kaboodle Doodles. The theme is Dressed for Success and there has to be a piece of clothing, some fabric, some interpretation of the theme. My salon with the dress form fits this challenge.
The second is at Ooh-la-la Creations where the challenge is Ribbon or Twine - a ribbon ties the curtain.
Chana invited me to join their Anything Goes Challenge #5 at Jackson's Digital Expressions. I'm not using the sketch, but with a little imagination it might look like it. :). My project is really monochrome with one colour, so the duet of colours is almost applicable...
The challenge at Lexi's Creations is Black and White with one colour - my one colour is a purply pink.
Whoopsiedaisy Challenge says: Shape It, and I think my project has enough shape!
At Stamps & Fun = Creativity it is Anything Goes and I'm joining there too!
Take A Word has the word Dream, and I think my project has an element of dream in it, that dream dress or dream room...
Paper Make-up Stamps has a Recycle Challenge. I used cereal boxes to create the walls.
Bunny Zoes Craft's challenge is also Anything Goes.
PileItOnChallenge asks for a Pattern Mix of Scales. I used the same frame of the walls to create the floor pattern.
I'm also joining the Crazy Challenge where Challenge #120 is 3D - my mannequin and box is 3D!
Wow, that's quite a few challenges for me!

Hope I have inspired you to find that frame and finish a project for the challenge!

Cheers to Diamonds!

Cheers to me!

I won 2nd place in the blog hop over at Guylou's Inimitabilty!
I must confess, I really like blog hops because you get to see a whole variety of creations, often made with the same set of images. And if I get to win something, that is a lovely bonus!

With the Blog Hop was a challenge and I'm entering a project in the Punches, Dies and Diamonds Challenge:

I don't have a cutting machine, but I do have more than 1 pair of scissors - and I love cutting shapes with my various scissors. The fabulous Spirellis from CSDesigns qualify for a die-cut, I think. :). I used the diamond shape in 2 sizes cut from mirror board. These were tied with shades of purple sewing thread. The little stars were punched from silver cardstock. I did some line embossing using my Martha Stewart board. The lines I highlighted with silver pencil.

The lovely Leah at the Cocktail Party forms the focus of the card. She was coloured with Tombows - wow, haven't used them for a while. I 3D'd her to create a fancy club effect. The bits of bling adds more diamonds to my card. Yes, and some bling to Leah's outfit!

Hope you like her!

Let the Dancer in you Escape!

The new challenge at Art with No Boundaries has been posted!
What a fun challenge!

2 new dancers created by Chris from CSDesigns are making their debut too!

Plié is dancing on my card.
I decided to go with aqua and green teamed with the diamond black and white background.

I added loads of glitter to this beauty in the spotlight.

I love music and I love to dance. I'm reminded of a chubby 9 year old wannabee ballerina, dressed in my black leotard, pink tights and black leather ballet shoes. That year made a difference in my life and nurtured my love of ballet, the music, the performance, but also of dancing in general.

I would love to see what you have to share!
