Beccy's Place Challenge - Beautiful

Welcome to my blog!

Today I'm posting the first card I made for the May 2022 Challenge at Beccy's Place.

She posted a lovely freebie in coloured and b/w options, as well as an optional twist in the form of a sketch:

I decided to let the sketch inspire me. I printed the b&w image out a few times in 2 sizes, then watercoloured it with Distress Ink in Saltwater Taffy & Abandoned Coral. I used the inks to create a background on my folded card. This I overstamped with Victorian Velvet and Vintage Photo. I used Victroian Velvet for my tag too. The large panel is a textured card and the buff card I edged with gold acrylic paint.

The flowers were fussy cut and layered in the corner to mirror the sketch. A dash of pearlescent gold powder gives a final shimmer.

Items and stamps used:
Beccy's Place May 2022 Freebie
Stamperia WTKCC208
Stamperia WTKAT18
Ranger Distress Inks - pads & re-inkers
Cardstock from stash

You are special!

Welcome!

I have made another card to enter in the Catch the Bug Colour Challenge:

I've used the very pretty Flower Pocket 7 that I received as a freebie and coloured it in shades of pink.
This I then matted on 2 pieces of textured cardstock that was coloured with soft pastels to fit into the colour scheme. With a fine liner I added the sentiment and the frame.

Now I have to hurry to get it linked up in time!

A 1st Christmas

Welcome!

Another Christmas card for the Digistamps4Joy's Christmas Challenge!

I must be quite honest that when I received this little dragon, I was a bit stumped. I'm not really the dragon & dinosaur type, I don't know what to do with them. I printed him out and there he was lying amongst the other images that needed colouring.

Yes, I sort of ignored him. The time started running out and I realised I will have to just do it. I chose a green that I liked and started colouring. Initially I just filled the space, and then those cute eyes looked at me. I fell in love with this sweetie. No, I didn't change into a dragon lover, but this little one can stay around!

All the colouring was done with pencils and I added Diamond Stickles for some sparkle.

Take Note of my New Toys!

Welcome!

I found another challenge blog : Open-Minded Crafting Fun

They have a mega first challenge! The theme is New Toy or New Technique.

I opted for the new Toy and made 2 little quick & easy CAS note cards!

My new toy is the background stamp, one of a set of 4 from Chiswick.

When I saw it, I had to have it. It is the perfect size for little cards, ATC's & tags. While browsing in the shop, I found the perfect partner for my stamp set, stickers from Upikit!

I stamped the background directly to the card using Victorian Velvet Distress ink. The green flowery heart sticker was layered on pink & green paper and added with dimension tape.

The blue background is the second impression done with Indigo Blue Impress Dye Ink. The sticker was added directly onto the card.

I really like the simplicity of the 2 note cards and the way the 2 inks changed the look of the background. I hope you like it too!

I'm also adding my 2 note cards to the Simon Says Monday Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes! My little cards are perfect for this challenge, because any design or style or project can be entered!

Lil Frolic and friends

Welcome!

I was so delighted to find this challenge blog: Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog!
How did I miss it before?

But wait, the best is that I received this super sweet image: Lil Frolic & Friends to start me off.
She is really a little darling!

I coloured her in soft fun colours & added some Stickles glitter glue. The torn edges of the image and the card layers add some extra texture. My metallic pastels provided some shiny colour to the card.

I'm adding her to the Lacy Sunshine Challenge #24 - Anything Goes

Hope to see you there too!

Welcome!

I would like to share another purple and orange card using Nicolosia Venice City City Girl from the fabulous Lacy Sunshine range of digital stamps:

As you can see I kept it simple. The embossed panel was turned over and some ribbon was added.
The image was coloured with my pencils and I added glitter in the form of Sprinkles in various colours.

Many folds!

Welcome!

I've been rather lazy posting the past month or so!

Have patience, I'll catch up, but for today, I would like to enter the 'A Card with Many Folds' Challenge over at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog.

Cards with interesting folds intrigue me, but I must confess, when I get to the 15th little triangle or little shape that I must cut & measure, I always wonder what possessed me. Eventually, when it all gets together and everything is stuck down, I'm normally pleased with the results.

Here is my Diamond fold card using the Jaunty 1892 Hat Digistamp by RickStDennis  inside the card. The papers are bits from my stash. Final touch is an organza bow.

Here it is closed. ( I'm still working on a closure.)

I'm entering it in the Lunagirl Moonbeams Autumn Challenge - Autumn colours

Autumn Sunrise

Welcome!

The theme at Crafting by Designs is Show your Season.

Delicious Doodles is the sponsor and I used Harbour Scene to create my card.

Autumn (fall) is my favourite season! The days are still warm and the crisp nights are bearable. The colours of nature tones down to softer warmer shades and lovely shades of oranges and even reds can be seen. I love leaves, and especially all those shades of orange!

The image was coloured with pastels and a tiny bit of Vintage Photo Distress Stickles was added. I matted the image on orange card and added it to a kraft card. I know it is simple, but I wanted the image to really shine here.

Hope you'll visit again!

Misty Morning

Welcome!

The theme at Crafting by Designs is Show your Season.

Delicious Doodles is the sponsor and I used Harbour Scene to create my card.

On my way to work, I drive past some trees, long thin trees. The trees are in a low lying area and it is often foggy there, especially when the seasons change from summer to winter. One morning, it was really foggy and the sun was up. Those trees looked so beautiful, almost surreal in the field.

I tried to create a misty morning with the torn vellum overlay. The ribbon & bow just asked to be added and I'm happy with the spot of colour. Oh, some Diamond Stickles adds a final touch!

Here is a side view:

I hope you find this inspiring and will come & join the challenge,

Memories

Welcome!

The theme at Crafting by Designs is Show your Season.

Delicious Doodles is the sponsor and I used Harbour Scene to create my card.

I overlaid the image with printed vellum. The vellum has writing on postcards as design. I added some stamping : a steampunk watch and keys. Mother of pearl buttons echo the seaside, holds it all together on a kraft card.

I fell in love with this image the moment I saw it! There is something nostalgic about it, something quaint. In a way it reminded me of places I visited, especially as a child.

The watch is a symbol of the times gone by, the keys of doors that were opened and new possibilities.

As a teen and young adult, I was an avid letter writer and I had many pen pals and always kept contact with my friends. That was before emails (LOL) and even after. Email has taken over here and I'm trying to keep up. Through the years, I've lost contact with my pen pals and friends, but the past few years, and especially this last year, I made contact with old friends again! It is almost as if the seasons have made a full circle and I'm so grateful to have a chance to build on those friendships again!

For the Birds

Welcome!

The theme at Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge Blog for this week's challenge #88 is Birds, Nests and Eggs.

Here is another ATC made with an image from Vintage Image Craft that fits this challenge just perfectly.

This is just the prettiest poster girl advertising chocolate & cocoa! I didn't want to add much to it, just added a blue frame & some flat back pearls.

Birds & Babies

Welcome!

I've been on a bit of a roll with ATC's.

The theme at Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge Blog for this week's challenge #88 is Birds, Nests and Eggs.

While looking for images on Vintage Image Craft for an upcoming challenge I came across the cutest images that fits this challenge just perfectly.

The first ATC I made with an Easter image, probably a card. The image was printed on photo paper, then layered on blues & rust and finally on a cream ATC base. Little blue flowers cover the sentiment and liquid pearls is used for the flower centers as well as some decoration. Gold glitter is added to the spots of the eggs.

You're Sweet!

Welcome!

I had some blogger issues last week, so I couldn't do a post for the new challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad. So it is a double this week!
Our sponsor : Far Far Hill - they have a fabulous selection of images and backgrounds. Worth the visit!
Our theme: You're sweet.

We were supplied with lovely & sweet (pun intended) images and background digital papers to create our projects. The images were mainly cupcakes and confectionery.

I tried something. I printed my choice of images onto sticker paper. These stickers I fussy cut out & added to my cards. NO Glue! The background papers I first cropped and only printed out small panels of what I wanted to use. This saved on ink! Yes, it worked so well.

Making your own stickers with coloured images really saves on time and I think is a cool way to make a batch of cards.

Here are my cards. Week 1:

Panel of background paper and 3 cupcake stickers, some glitter pen & voila! I'll add the sentiment once I know what I'm using it for!

Week 2:

Panel of background paper, Cup & Cupcake sticker, touch of glitter pen. Quick & easy once everything is ready!

It was really yummy to work with these images & papers and I will make some more of these cards!

I hope that you enjoyed this visit and will join our sweet challenge!

Hugs

Rene

Another Bathing Beauty!

Welcome!

This is my third ATC for the Lunagirl Bathing Beauties challenge!

Lunagirl put a few images on her blog to add some inspiration for the challenge and this image is the one that started it for me. That is why I'm ending with this one! We are allowed 3 entries, so I will use the other images at a later stage.

It is an amusing image, rather risqué for that era, almost strange. I printed the image out a bit more saturated to pop the colours. Love my printer - can do this without touching the image as such! I like the almost garish look. It reminds me of old photo albums and old greeting cards as well.

The corners were made with gold card, the blue back was rubbed with gold metallic pastel and the gold bow echoes the bows on the girl's stockings.

I hope you will visit again!

Fly or Swim

Welcome!

ATC no 2 for the Lunagirl Bathing Beauties Challenge!

The image was supplied by Lunagirl, the little stickers from my stash, the wings a Penny Black stamp (Winged Angel - appropriate name!), the writing my own, the DP from my stash.

I always look at the collages of women with wings and I can never find what might work. The sizing was just right for this image and stamp. I stamped it 3 times, 3 different colours and in the end I really like how it turned out. I'm a bit of a CAS girl, so maybe this needs more in some peoples eyes...

Hope you will visit again!

Hugs

Rene

I'm adding my ATC to the following challenges:

Use Your Stamps (personal Challenge) - Penny Black Stamp used

Geisha Pinup

Welcome!

I hope you like my creation and will visit again!
