Travel around the world!

Visiting the blogs of some of my fellow South-Africans brought me across a real fun challenge blog:
They supply you with a template that you must use to enter the challenge with. The template fits the theme. This time round the theme is travel and the template is for a cabin case. I just love the template. I used the map scan of Cape Town, added some digital stamps from Nicecrane and PSX.

Here is what I created:

Inside I used one of the lovely sentiments from CSDesigns:

Here is a combination of the outside and inside:

PS. Thanks Ursula! I saw your entry and couldn't resist visiting the Duo-challenge blog!

I'm entering it in the following fun challenges:

Here is my second project for the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge:

I've use the Priscillastyles Fan again. Here is a close-up:

I coloured, cut out and added some lace at the top, and don't forget the blingy brad.

There is still time to enter!

Fan card 1

Here is my first project for the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge :

I'm using the Priscillastyles Fan. Here is a close-up.

I enlarged the fan to almost fill the page. I then coloured it with my aqua-pencils and blended it. I cut it out, folded it and added a blingy brad.

Hurry on over, there is still time to enter!

Thank You Michelle Perkett

It is the last challenge on the Michelle Perkett Challenge Blog

I've decided to make a little ATC tag using my other favourite image: Arthur.

This tag is to say thank you to Michelle Perkett for her generosity and the fabulous inspiration I always got on her blog. I have a wishlist of images I still want to acquire so I hope she'll be around for a long time :)

I've combined Arthur with the challenge freebie.

Here he is:

And here he says thank you:

Hope you like him :)

Thank You Michelle Perkett Mermaids!

The day has come to say thank you to the fabulous mermaids on the Michelle Perkett challenge blog.

This is the last challenge and the theme is fittingly 'Thank You'.

With my card I want to say thank you for the wonderful inspiration that was always there on the blog.

Also thank you for featuring me as Guest Designer.

I decided to use one of my favourite images to say thank you : Rose :

She is combined with the lovely 'thank you ' freebie, an image I can see much use for in the future.

I'm sure we'll see some more of the mermaids on other sites, I'm so glad that my paths crossed yours.

Party Time!

It's party time over at Annabelle's.

They are celebrating their 2nd Birthday and are inviting us all to join their fabulous party in September.

I don't want to miss out on a party, and I'm sure you don't want to either. So here is the directions to the party:

As with all good parties, there are gifts at this party too! So hurry over, join them and follow the instructions to get a chance to get one of the gifts! I just did!

See you at the party!

Ocean Week 2

It is the second week of Art with no Boundaries and the Design Team came up with a new crop of fabulous cards.

The challenges run over 2 weeks so the theme is still
Ocean, Aquatic, Nautical.

I chose to work with one of the new sentiments from CSDesigns.

I decided on a more masculine look. My image is a scanned map from an old map book and a picture of a ship. I combined the 2 images in Fireworks and made the ship more transparent. The sentiment was coloured and lightly sponged. The image and sentiment was layered onto cardstock. A piece of rough rope was added, after it was knotted.

CSDesigns sentiments are pieces of art and it is so much fun to use them on my cards, either as the focus point or accompanying one of the fabulous CSdesign images. They also compliment any other image you may decide to use. I think this card showcase the versatility of the designs, from CAS to cute to arty and everything inbetween.

But don't let me keep you, do visit Art with no Boundaries and show us your fabulous Aquatic creation. Remember, it can be anything that fits into the theme, using any image. The important thing is to join us, have fun, visit the other entries, leave love, meet new friends, become a follower. Wow, all in one sentence!

I am joining the following fun challeges:

Wish me luck!!

The new blog has arrived! Art with no Boundaries is here! And what a beauty!

The first themed challenge is: The Ocean, Aquatic, Nautical
It was chosen to tie in with the release of some fabulous new 'Aquatic' designs from Chris at CSDesigns.

When I think of the ocean, I think of the the waves, coming and going, tranquility. That is what my Loreley Shells and Sand portrays :

Visit all the other lovely creations, share some friendship and become a follower. All the info is on the blog. It is really easy.

I cannot wait to see the interesting works of art that you will share!

Tag along!

I had an idea for a card with a tag, but in the end I just finished the tag.
CSDesigns has launched all these lovely 'home' sentiments and I'm using one on my tag:

Hope you like it!
Back to the drawing board with the card idea.

Another Friend for Arthur.

I couldn't resist adding another friend to Arthur's circle and here is Arthur Snow (my idea for a fun name).

He's all dressed up for his dinner party with his friends.

Arthur was a cute freebie on Michelle Perkett's Blog.

Arthur's Friends

I promised that I'll show you Arthur's friends and here is Arthur Noel:
The name was my idea, his real name is Arthur.

He's all dressed up for Christmas. It looks like he enjoys getting around.

Arthur was a cute freebie on Michelle Perkett's Blog.

Another Home card!

I've made a card with the new sentiment from CSDesigns.
The flowers were made last year for some Christmas cards.

Hope you like it!

New Sentiments

As part of the design team, we could play with them before the launch.
You have already seen one here.

My creation with another of the fabulous set is a wall hanging for a new home:

I kept it simple with earthy autumn colours and some fabulous trim I found at the haberdashery department of my favourite fabric shop. I also added some velvet ribbon. The frame is made out of balsa wood that I stained with a stamppad. Some chalk was added to the sentiment to tone down the white of the paper.

Hope you like it!

Home is where the Heart is

Time for a sentiment from CSDesigns
Here is my card from the outside:

And now, for the reveal:

Black, red and white is my favourite colour combo. This time I added some silver. I've used the Twirly Heart from CSDesigns together with the Hearts to Build a Home Sentiment.

My leafing pen decided to not play along, so now the effect is not what I had in mind. Will have to make another with real silver leaf to get the effect I was looking for....

Hope you like it. I am going to enter it in a few challenges.
