Sassys Silver Snow
Welcome!
I'm a big fan of Sassy Studios Design!
There was a new release on the blog and a challenge to make a card using Silver and/or Gold.
I opted for silver. I used some embossed strips of mirror card as background.
My Sassy Snowman Pinup was coloured where needed. I layered her on glossy red & white papers.
A little boo-boo was distressed and turned into a little flurry of snow around the Sassy's head.
3 red rhinestones & some Diamond stickles adds a touch of bling.
Hope you like her!

Have yourself a Sassy Christmas!
Welcome!
I've decided to enter 2 challenges hosted by Sassy Studio Designs.
The first is the Dare to Be SassyThursdays #203 where the theme is "Not your typical Christmas".
I have so much orange and purple cardstock left from the colour challenge that I hosted,
that it was an obvious choice for my card.
I found some DP printed with purple images (magazine freebie a few years ago).
All that was left for me to do was colour the gorgeous Santa Pin Up in purple and orange.
My pencils were used to do the task.
A final bit of bling was added with Stickles to give her outfit some sparkle.
I'm also entering her in the Guest Design Call for Dec 2013.

Glittering and Sassy!
Welcome!
The Anything Goes with Sassy Studio Designs challenge is on a roll over at Crafting by Designs.
I'm a big fan of Sassy Studio Designs, so I always enjoy working with Lindsay's images.
This time around I used Jessica Rabbit Sassy that was kindly provided by the sponsors, Sassy Studio Designs.
Oh my, she is just so sexy! I played with glitter that I've had for ages. After colouring and cutting out the image, I used clear glue to colour her glove and then sprinkled the silver glitter. This dried first, before I did the same with her dress and shoes and gorgeous red glitter.
While the dress was drying I made the background. I used the negative of a tag and backed it with black textured card from my stash. The card was covered with red shiny paper. A ruby red rhinestone add some extra sparkle. Jessica was added with dimension tape.
Isn't she just fabulous! That dress does it for her, don't you agree!
There is still time to enter the challenge! It is an Anything Goes challenge, so you can enter any of your current projects, or even 2 or 5 of them. Won't you love to win 4 SSD images!
Do visit again!

Proudly SA
Welcome!
It's Wednesday and time for a new challenge at Crafting By Designs!
We are showing our country's colours!
The inspiration for my card is our national flower, the King Protea, beautifully photographed on this postcard by Bateleur Publishing CC.
I've used the cute Russia Honey by Sassy Studio Designs. Her fur hat reminded me of the fluffy inside of the protea. I coloured just the edge of her coat in pink to echo the pink of the flower. The distressed edges of the paper simulates the leaves of the plant. I've added some glitter and 3 rhinestones.
I hope that you will join the challenge!

Green & Gold!
Welcome!
It's time for a new challenge at Crafting By Designs!
Our theme this week is to create a project using your country's colours or the colours of your flag.
This is my second card.
Our National Team's colours are Green & Gold, and Gold is an important metal in South Africa.
I've used the fabulous Katniss Girl of Fire by Sassy Studio Designs to create my card. I've coloured her twice in 2 colourways - Green & Gold. My 2 Sassy's also represents a bit of the spectrum of people that lives in my country.
They walk on a bright yellow & green background, anchored by 4 gold rhinestones.
I do hope that I've inspired you to join in the challenge!

Sassy Flowers.
Welcome!
I was so thrilled that I won images in the Sassy Studio Designs' challenge last week that I just have to enter again!
The theme this week at Dare to be Sassy Thursday #176 is: 'April Showers bring May Flowers', the brief : show flower(s).
I have coloured Sassy Crissy's Prom in red and fussy cut her. She was just waiting for a background. I love Designer Papers, but I find it difficult to use, do not ask me why? Maybe I just don't like to cut up those beauties...Well, in this case I found the perfect backdrop for my Sassy Crissy!! Beautiful flowers, toned down against wood grain with some dainty flowers in-between. I cut a panel from the DP, layered it on red to form a narrow frame and then fixed it to a kraft base card. Crissy was added on foam tape and I added a bit of bling with my gelly roll.
Really, I like the way my card has turned out. It is CAS with the lovely DP on perfect display, and the lovely Sassy Crissy the focal point of the card.
I'm also linking my card to the following challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafters - April Showers bring May Flowers.
Love to Create Challenge Blog - #65 Flowers, Flowers, so many Pretty Flowers

Welcome!
Sassy Studio Designs had a Blog Hop last weekend as well as a TicTacToe Challenge.
I hope you will visit again!

Sassy Studio Designs had a Blog Hop last weekend as well as a TicTacToe Challenge.
I chose the top row. I used a texture plate and pencil to create my brick wall on yellow paper. A woven ribbon finishes the row. But what will a card be without a Sassy image? I used Skater Sassy and coloured her in earthy colours - she wears a yellow top to add to the theme. I used a craft card and added some brown pencil texture.
Well, here is my card:

Sassy Cape Town!
Welcome!
Sassy Studio Designs had an Around the World Blog Hop last weekend as well as a challenge to make a card showing your favourite country.
There are many countries I would love to visit. Those include France, Spain and the USA. Reading books and surfing the web is another way of seeing a bit of the world.
I live in my favourite country in my favourite city, the beautiful Cape Town, in South Africa. My card depict the Fourth of July Honey with a flag of South Africa on a background of an aerial photo of Cape Town. After seeing this, you know why I love it here!

Patriotic Show your Flag Hop
Welcome to the Crafting By Designs Blog
Hop! We are celebrating our 1st Birthday!
Our theme is Patriotic / the colours of
your flag.
If you arrived here from the talented Tammy Smith’s Blog, you
are still on course. If not, you might want to start from the beginning at my friend
Doris’s Blog.
At Crafting By Designs we have members from all over the world and
this gave all of us a chance to show off our national flags and cities or
countries and be patriotic.
I live in the most beautiful city, Cape
Town, on the tip of Africa, in Sunny, Friendly South Africa.
Our flag is quite unique, since it is the
only National flag that has 6 colours in its main design. So I have a wonderful palette
of 6 colours to play with: Blue Black, Chilli Red, Gold Yellow, Spectrum Green,
National Flag White & National Flag Blue. Read a bit more here and here.
Our Democracy is 18 years old this year,
and for my creation, I chose Katniss Girl on Fire from Sassy Studio Designs to showcase the colours of my flag: I chose the red, gold, black & white. It shows youth and vibrancy, and also the preciousness of our cultures & peoples. (my interpretation)
Thanks that I could entertain you for a
minute or 2. Hope you enjoyed the visit and will pop in again!
I would also like to invite you to visit Crafting by Designs once you have completed the Blog Hop, and if you like what you see, do consider joining us. We have regular challenges, loads of inspiration from the Design Team and the other members. The best part is the friendship and fun we share. Hope that we'll see you there too!
Your next stop will be the fabulous blog of:Tammy Martinez.
PS. My niece lent me her 'Hunger Games' book - I'll start reading it this weekend! :)

Sassy Relay in New York!
Welcome!
It's Round 4 of the Sassy in the City Relay over at Sassy Studio Designs and we had a choice:
Show Sassy Carrie in New York or Paris!
Haven't been to either city, but have stuff I can use...stamps, images, real life photos.
My choice fell on a PSX rubber stamp that I have had for very long and have never used. It turned out to be the Perfect Match!
I did some sponging, colouring and paper piecing and voila! Carrie is Sassy in New York:
And here she is a bit closer so that you can have a better look at Carrie:
Hope you like what I created!
What a fun relay this was, getting to play with all the wonderful girls! Now it's holding thumbs for the big prize!

Sassy Relay Round 1
Welcome!
It's relay time at Sassy Studio Designs and here is my creation using the first freebie : Charlotte.
It's winter in Cape Town and I decided to go for warm & summery colours to turn up the heat. I added some gold paint, gold thread and beads to compliment the theme.
Here she is a bit closer:
Hope you like her! I think she looks ready for the party! Bring on the music...

It's Time!
I'm at last getting to do a card for Dare to be Sassy Thursdays #108 at Sassy Studio Designs. The theme is Frosty Winter colours and my choice fell on blues and silver:
I used the sexy Steampunk Victoria and dressed her in blue, black and silver. Her soft white boots complete the picture. My pencils were used to colour her. I decided not to blend, thus giving an effect of more texture.
My base is a blue card. The silver mirror board was trimmed with a pattern scissors. I added pieces of a collage of clocks, etc that I edged with Indigo Blue ink. Last Victoria was added with mirror tape to give some more dimension.

Steampunk Sketch
Another card with one of the fabulous Steampunk Images that were freebies over the past weekend on the Sassy Studio Designs Papercraft Planet Group.
I followed the sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches #136.
I decided to make my card in cream, green and gold.
And a close-up:

Steampunk Four
It's Round 4 of the Sassy Studio Design Progressive Challenge and the theme is Anything Goes!
The image we received is the gorgeous Steampunk Vivian. I decided to work with the burgundies and browny reds and combine it with gold. There was some background left from round 2, so I cut it in strips for extra detail. I added a handmade flower that I made a bit smaller.
On the close up you can see some of the Gelly Roll and Glossy Accents that I added.
I'm entering my card in the following challenge:

Victorian Steampunk
The third creation for the Sassy Studio Designs Progressive Challenge.
This round we go Victorian with the fabulous Victoria! I picked my pencils, in burgundy & deep red and then googled some Victorian colours. My eyes fell on a black and blue outfit, and that is how Victoria got her colours. I decided to add some copper, rather than gold.
Well here she is:
Well, I've made it before midnight! VBG. Not many minutes to spare.
I'll make another Victoria in all those burgundies and deep reds tomorrow, but now I think it's bedtime after I've linked her to the challenge!PS. Now in the morning (being more awake :) I see my card could have been a bit more Victorian or vintage...but I still like it the way it is. The other one will be more elaborate!

Masquerade in Blue
I couldn't resist making another ATC using one of my Blog Hop Freebies from Sassy Design Studios. This time around I chose Masquerade 4 and dressed her in blue. I added some silwer, some glitter and a touch of bling. And some Gelly Roll accents.
I'm entering my ATC in the fun challenge at ATC Sisterhood. It is shades of Blue. I have some silver & white too, so I hope it is ok.
Sassy Pink Masquerade
Last Saturday there was a blog Hop at Sassy Studio Designs. On each of the blogs there was a fabulous freebie and a few extras during the day long party! The last part of the party was a challenge to create a project with one of the 7 sassy images. The theme is 'Masquerade Ball' and we have to add bling, feathers or sequins (or all 3).
Well, here is my first ATC using Masquerade 3. I coloured her dress with pink and added bling. I also added some shiny paper and some more bling. And my gelly roll....
