Steampunk Four

It's Round 4 of the Sassy Studio Design Progressive Challenge and the theme is Anything Goes!

The image we received is the gorgeous Steampunk Vivian. I decided to work with the burgundies and browny reds and combine it with gold. There was some background left from round 2, so I cut it in strips for extra detail. I added a handmade flower that I made a bit smaller.

On the close up you can see some of the Gelly Roll and Glossy Accents that I added.

Oh what fun this was!

I'm entering my card in the following challenge:

Victorian Steampunk

The third creation for the Sassy Studio Designs Progressive Challenge.

This round we go Victorian with the fabulous Victoria! I picked my pencils, in burgundy & deep red and then googled some Victorian colours. My eyes fell on a black and blue outfit, and that is how Victoria got her colours. I decided to add some copper, rather than gold.

Well here she is:

And a little closer:

Well, I've made it before midnight! VBG. Not many minutes to spare.
I'll make another Victoria in all those burgundies and deep reds tomorrow, but now I think it's bedtime after I've linked her to the challenge!

PS. Now in the morning (being more awake :) I see my card could have been a bit more Victorian or vintage...but I still like it the way it is. The other one will be more elaborate!

It's October!

It's that time of the year when scary things are creeping out of the woodwork.

Halloween is not celebrated here in South Africa, but in the spirit of the season (pun intended) I have created a few cards using one of the new Halloween Images from CSDesigns.

Here is the first card using Psychosis:

And here is a scary close-up:

Hope you are not too scared to come back tomorrow to see what else I have created.

And don't forget to join us at Art with No Boundaries for the month of October!

I'm entering my card in these challenges:

The Red Leaf

Second week of the Autmn/Fall challenge at Art with no Boundaries.
My card has another of Fall sentiment by CSDesigns as main focus. Although it has more than 1 layer, it is a clean and simple card, red and white with a touch of black. I punched leaves from the same red paper as my center panel and also some white ones from cardstock.

It is also a card to pay tribute to the fabulous talent of Chris, the artist behind CSDesigns, who lives in Canada. Hope you like it, Chris!

My layout was inspired by Unscripted Sketches #125.

Autumn Leaves

It's time again for a new challenge at Art with No Boundaries.
The theme is Fall or Autumn.

I made this card using a new sentiment by CSDesigns especially for fall. My layout was inspired by Unscripted Sketches #124.

And here is a close-up:

I love paper punching and here you can see when I start, it's difficult to stop...
I also did a bit of foiling and added some chalk, another favourite.

Hope you like my autumn card. Autumn is really my favourite season!

Anything goes week 2

It's the second week of Anything Goes at Art with No Boundaries. I decided to play with my Solitaire Leather and Rivets, but I went blingy.

I like the mix of fuchsia and black with a touch of silver and white almost as much as I like red and black:

Here is a close-up for you to enjoy all the bling I've added!

Hope you like it! A little different than my usual style.

I've entered my card in following fun challenge:

A card for all Seasons

Nana Vic's generously supplied a fabulous Seasons freebie on CDAC for the Vickie Quickie Challenge.

I decided to cut up the images and layer them on different shades of green to add one of the elements in the Desert Islands Craft Challenge (no9). The image already has a nature theme (no 7), and I added some extra leaves. I 'lifted' my 2 favourite seasons with foam tape to add extra dimension (no5). Although not quite Kraft, the card can go through for no 1 as well.

Hope you like my creation!

I'm joining a few other challenges too:

Flowers Galore at Michelle Perkett

Time for another challenge at Michelle Perkett!

The theme is Flowers Galore!

I used some wrapping paper as backing. The image was a Michelle Perkett freebie. I fussy cut, coloured, layered and decorated with punched flowers. And off course, I added some glitter! The sentiment is part of the image.

Hope you like it!

Michelle Perkett release her Angels!

To celebrate all this there has been a party going since last Sunday over on Paper Craft Planet in her group.

On Sunday, we filled in a crossword puzzle and then had 1 hour to create a card with a Michelle Perkett sentiment.

1 hour!!
That is quite fast for me, I take one hour to decide which image to use....

I had some images and sentiments already printed out which made it so much easier to decide what to do!
Colouring?? Fastest, I decided will be chalks or pastels.....
The sentiment and image was fussy cut and this is what I came up with in UNDER an hour:

I still photographed it and posted it, under the hour...
Just shows what can be done.
Image is the fabulous Summer. The sentiment Imagine was a freebie.
Forgot to tell you that I added some glitter too....

But wait, that's not all, my card WON!
I could choose one of the angels. I chose the lovely, serene Peace.

There will be projects posted during the weekend to show what I made with her.

Pop on over and go and join in the fun!

Father's Day Challenge at Michelle Perkett

This time of the week again for me.

The Father's Day Challenge at Michelle Perkett is Father's Day with Brown/Neutral colours.

It is my dad's birthday on the 21st of June and we have always combined his birthday with Father's day. That is my reason for a birthday theme card. He loves chocolate and the only cake I can bake is cupcakes. So I made a cupcake card. Hope you like it!

The image from Michelle Perkett was a Valentine's Day Freebie. I didn't use the sentiment that came with it.
I used my pencils, puff paint, Liquid Pearls and Stickles glitter to decorate the cupcakes.

Bingo Challenge at Michelle Perkett!

This week challenge at Michelle Perkett is : Bingo
Here is the grid:

The idea is to choose one line and use those elements on a card. You also have to use a Michelle Perkett image!

I decided on the middle horizontal row : Scallops, ribbon & flowers. The image I chose is my favourite oh so cute Rose that I received as a freebie.
I used a shiny textured card as base. The image was coloured and fussy-cut, the scallops were done by scissors & I added the ribbon & flowers to finish the Bingo line. Believe it or not, there is NO glitter on the card!
Hope you like it!

Make your own Pattern Paper at Michelle Perkett

Monday and another card for a Michelle Perkett Challenge, the 4th one for May! Maybe one day I'll finish it sooner....

The challenge : Make your own pattern paper and use a Michelle Perkett image.

I used a butterfly I received as a freebie some time ago. The butterfly was used to create the paper. It was then printed in grayscale. I decided to stay with the simple colourscheme and added a touch of green & silver, glitterpaint and bling. My card:

The 'create' is a part of the image and this is an inspiration to myself and all of you who visit my blog.

Here is a close-up of the butterfly.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday #102!

Here is Sketch #102 over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

And here is my take on the sketch:

The first thing I had to do to make my card was to find my oval cutter. Then I had to figure out how it worked...haven't used it for about a decade, I guess...Well, I eventually figured it out.

I decided to go with an oversized oval, to almost over-emphasize my theme 'Queen for a day'. The sentiment is from Create with TLC, the frame is from Bird's Cards, the crown from Melonheadz and the fabulous chair you can find here. The papers are from a no-name pack, I added some rhinestones, ribbon and Gold Stickles for extra bling.

Say it with Die-Cuts at Michelle Perkett

The challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio this week is 'Say it with Die-Cuts'. The only other rule is to use a Michelle Perkett image.

I don't have a die-cutter but I do have punches and more than 1 pair of scissors. My card shows my 2 small flower punches and a free cut palm tree:

The image I used was Leilani that was offered as a freebie some time ago. The 'Aloha' is inside the card. I coloured her and fussy cut her out. Then I used foam tape to add her to the colour-sponged card.
The final touches were added with some Stickles glitter in a few colours. I hope you like my touch of innovation.

Forgot to add that there is a prize up for grabs if you enter in all the challenges this month!

Shaker Box Card Challenge at Guylou

Guylou has a shakerbox card challenge on her blog.
Here is my card:

I used William and Kate that you can get here. I only coloured the tiara, and jewellery with Platinum Stickles. The sentiment I used is from Sentiments4You. I punched some flowers from shiny paper and added that with pearly beads in the shaker box. I decorated the shaker box with ribbon, punched flowers & pearls.
The static of the acetate makes the flowers 'stick' to it which I think makes an interesting decoration to the image.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday #101 with Sassy Cheryl's

Here is Sketch no 101 at Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

And here is my card:
I called the card "I did it!"
The image is a freebie from Sassy Cheryl's.
The DP is from a no-name stack I bought. I added some paper lace I made. The faux stitching goes with the buttons and the littly butterfly was added for fun & repition of the blue.

A 15cm Square card is not the usual size I make, but I am starting to have fun with it. Will have to see what pop up next....

Mermaids Galore at Michelle Perkett Studio

It's time for the next challenge at Micelle Perkett Studio : Mermaids Galore!
The beautiful Summer decided that she wants to explore the life of a mermaid. And this is how her exploration turned out:
The sentiment is from Michelle Perkett that was offered as a freebie. I used the shells from the freebie mermaidborder, also from Michelle Perkett to create the decorations. A little bit of glitter here and there, and Voila! my Summer Mermaid....
