Steampunk with Bling!

Welcome!

It's week 2 of the Steampunk challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad!
The Octopode Factory is our generous sponsor this forthnight.

I decided to use the Steampunk Lady Flo again but bling her up a bit! I used the same Steampunk background and added some metallic board cut with a fancy scissors. Some metallic washers, rhinestones and Sparkles were added for more bling. Lady Flo is ready for her Steampunk Party!

Do join in our fun challenge and stand a chance to win a $10 gift certificate from Octopode Factory! See you there!

Cheerful Steampunk!

Welcome!!

It's time for a new challenge over at The Cheerful Stamp Pad!
The theme, as you might have guessed (VBG) is Steampunk and our generous sponsor this time is The Octopode Factory.  The images we played with are excellent for Steampunk themed projects.

I decided to make an ATC and use very modern colours. In fact, I coloured with some fat Neon wax Highlighters. The image I used is Steampunk Lady Flo. She has this look of Mary Poppins with her little umbrella and frilly skirt. I printed a larger image of her on some Steampunk background I found here. The cut-out of Lady Flo is added with some foam tape to look like she has a shadow behind her while she is flying through the sky.

Here she is a bit closer:

Hope you like her and will join in the challenge.

Do visit Lily's shop because there are more fabulous images!

Coming up Orange Week 2

Welcome!

It's week 2 of the Coming up Orange challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad!

It is another chance to show off the fabulous designs from our sponsor Lunagirl. Do yourself a favour and stop by her store, there are some beautiful products to feast your eyes on!

My choice for this week is from her Orange Sheet. I kept it simple to showcase the Revue Poster to it's best:

Some coloured cardstock, a few dots of glitter and some Gelly Roll highlights, and there you are!

Here is a close-up.

Hope you feel inspired to make something orange!

Taking Time...

Welcome!

The theme at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge is :Take Time for you!

There is one thing that I really love doing, and that is reading. The ultimate 'Me Time' is spending time with a book, some background music and no worries about time...

My ATC says all that: The part of the clock doesn't show any time, the red music score is the music that is just there in the background, some printed text for the books and reading. The back of the text paper is a collage effect with the flowers and some text showing. It really looked pretty and creates a relaxed feeling. The sentiment is from Create with TLC.  It is the perfect sentiment for any book lover. The rhinestones signifies golden moments with my books. (I had to decide between pearls and rhinestones, but 'Pearls of Wisdom' was maybe pushing it a bit...LOL).

Well, I hope you like it:

Here are the Rhinestones up close:

I'm entering my ATC in Challenge#19 at ATC's and Cards with Attitude where the theme is Anything Goes.

For the Love of Shoes!

Welcome!

I love shoes! High heels are my favorite. There is just something about putting on a pair of heels, it elevates the body and the mood. It makes one feel fabulous and ready to conquer the world!

I have a pair of red heels that I wore in a play for a few minutes. They are a size to small because we couldn't get any when we were looking for red ones. They are killer shoes, in more ways than one! Five minutes on and the aches in my toes start, 15 minutes and I don't feel my toes. Will I ever get rid of them, no, never. I might not wear them again, but I love them!

So in honour of my pair of Red Suede Shoes, I present to you the Vintage Shoe by Robert Jackson, this time in Patent Leather:

The theme at Jackson's Digital Expressions is Anything Goes with Brads/Eyelets and here is a close-up of the eyelets I added.

And here you can see the Patent Leather I created with the Glossy Accents:

I hope you like my CAS red card and will join us in the challenge.

I'm entering my card in Challenge#19 at ATC's and Cards with Attitude where the theme is Anything Goes.

Rainbow Paisley

Welcome!

Another card for Jackson's Digital Expressions CAS week. The theme is Anything Goes with Brads/Eyelets.

I'm using Design by My Heart Pieces, our sponsor for the week. Do visit her blog to see all the pretty images she has!

This is such a super simple, super quick card. The image was printed directly on to the card. The colours were then sponged onto the card. Add a touch of glitter and voila!, finished CAS card! Can it be easier?? I doubt it!

Here is the card:

And a little closer:

Do join us in the challenge!

Bride of My Heart

Welcome!

It's a new week, a new month and a new challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions!

The CAS team is hosting this week. We also have a wonderful new sponsor, My Heart Pieces, with such pretty images.

The theme is Anything Goes with Optional Brads/Eyelets.

My first card is a white card, using the Pretty Bride from our sponsor. I decided to use mainly white and just add a whiff of pink to the image. I punched white daisies and added some Liquid pearls to the corners. I know it isn't quite CAS, but it is clean in colour!

Here is my card:

Hope you feel inspired and will join the challenge!

Mucha Orange

Welcome!

It's a new week and time for a new challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.

Our challenge this week is all about the colour Orange.

We also have a generous sponsor, Lunagirl, whose collage sheets are just fabulous.

It is sometimes so much fun to work with a coloured image, especially when making a 3-D project.
That is exactly what I did with the Mucha girl image.

Once I started cutting, I actually realised how much detail there is to this wonderful image. I can see so many possibilities!

I added an uncut picture to 2 layers of orange shades of cardstock. I cut the head out of the second layer and just the 'cap' part out of the 3rd layer. Glossy accents and some Jelly roll add some sparkle to the image. 2 rhinestones on a sparkly panel anchors the image on the card.

Here is my card:

And here are a few close-ups:

And a different angle:

A close-up of the image:

I hope my project has inspired you to try something different and use the colour orange. Do not forget to join the challenge!

And do stop by at our sponsor!

Well Done, Banyana Banyana!

Welcome!

It is Tuesday and time for a new challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions!

It is also the last week of the Month Long Party!

The theme for this week is "Anything Goes" with an optional sketch. I must confess, I got a bit carried away with the sketch and made 3 cards, with another still in the making. I just loved the sketch!

My first card is in honour of the South African Ladies Soccer Team that competed at the Olympic Games. We call them "Banyana Banyana". When I started colouring the cute Lil Street Baller II, our team was playing against Sweden. I copied the clothes they were wearing. They lost 4-1 unfortunately. Today, they played against Japan and drew 0-0, an excellent performance, since Japan is the World Champions. It was their first time at the Olympic Games and even though they finished last in their group, the attitude of the image says it all: "Watch us next time". You go girls!

Well, here is my card in the Green and Gold of South Africa:

Hope you like it and will join us in the challenge!

PS. Do pop over to have a look at all the wonderful creations of the Design Team.

Princess

Welcome!

My second project for the Jackson's Digital Expressions Anything Goes and an Optional Sketch Challenge is a 3"x 3" Easel Card variation.

I used the super cute Bugaboo Lil Princess to create my little card! What a lovely size this is to work with! I coloured her in dress in pink, layered her on pink card, and added some silver board to follow the sketch. Pink ribbon and a Princess Crown charm finishes off the card part. Some pink & silver card was used to add a frame on the front part of the card. This can be used for a sentiment or as a name tag.

Hope you like her and that you will come and join the challenge!

Bugaboo is the sponsor this week and you will stand a chance to win 7 (yes seven) digital images. They also have weekly freebies and some fun images. Do visit them too!

Bright Paisley Sketch

Welcome!

My third project for the Jackson's Digital Expressions Challenge goes bright!

Bugaboo is our sponsor this week and I have used Penny Paisley 1 for my CAS card. I coloured her in bright colours and repeated them all in the other layers. A bright daisy with a rhinestone center complete my bright card. My sentiment is a firm favourite from PSX.

Hope you like her and will join the challenge!

Cherry on Top!

Welcome!

It's week 2 of the 'Give me Five' challenge at the Cheerful Stamp Pad.

Meljen Designs let us play with a few images and this week I'm using Cherry Mouse for my ATC.

Ok, I must confess, I really do not like any kind of rodents, but this little critter is really cute and I even enjoyed colouring him. He will not make me like his fellow live family, but I don't mind having him around. VBG! The background is my own scribbling with fineliners.

Here is my ATC:

Hope you like it and will join in the challenge!

I'm entering my ATC in the Sugar and Spice challenge at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge. I'm sure that the cherry will qualify as 'all things nice' ...

Sassy Cape Town!

Welcome!

Sassy Studio Designs had an Around the World Blog Hop last weekend as well as a challenge to make a card showing your favourite country.

There are many countries I would love to visit. Those include France, Spain and the USA. Reading books and surfing the web is another way of seeing a bit of the world.

I live in my favourite country in my favourite city, the beautiful Cape Town, in South Africa. My card depict the Fourth of July Honey with a flag of South Africa on a background of an aerial photo of Cape Town. After seeing this, you know why I love it here!

Hope you'll visit again!

Golden Memories

Welcome!

It is cold in Cape Town and that is the half the reason why I fell in love with Shawna Latte from MayzyArt the moment I set my eyes on her! The other half is: coffee. :)

The theme for this week at Jackson's Digital Expressions is Anything Goes! The Altered Art Team is Hosting so anything altered goes too! Remember, it is a Month Long Celebration with weekly draws, so get that project linked up!

But wait, I got sidetracked and almost forgot to show you the fabulous Shawna!

I covered a small notebook with gold paper to start with and then added a green ribbon plus a bow. Shawna was coloured with my pencils and then blended to get a lovely effect.  I stayed with warm colours. I added some Copper around the edges and some chalk on the background. The image was then layered onto brown and coppery papers and added to the cover. 3 rhinestones add some more bling!

Here she is a little nearer:

Well, by now you know that Mayzy is sponsoring us this week. Do visit her store, she has a lovely variety of images available, even a few 3-packs & 5-packs!

Do join us at Jackson's Digital Expressions this week you can stand in line to win! The design team has put together a wonderful selection to really get you going! Hope to see you there!

And of course, do not forget to visit the Robert Jackson store as well!

I'm adding my project to the MayzyArt Cardless Challenge.

Give Me Five!

Welcome!

It is a new week and a new challenge over at The Cheerful Stamp Pad!

This week the theme is "Give Me Five".

This is such a broad theme and all that is asked is that you show a foot, a hand, a paw, a claw or even just fingers! Use your imagination and join the challenge.

Our sponsor this week is Meljen's Designs. She has such a lovely selection of images in her store. Do make sure that you visit there!

My little card was made to look like children's art. The Humpty Dumpty was coloured with pencils, blended and then cut out. The background on the little card was done with pastel chalks. A red fine liner was used to write my message on the little flag!

Hope this will bring a smile to someone's face!

Hope to see you at the challenge!!

Bookworm!

Welcome!

My favourite pastime is reading, always was, always will be!

When I received this darling image for my DT projects at Jacksons Digital Expressions, it reminded me of myself and of course I had to make one of my little magnetic bookmarks to use it. There is a tutorial here.

I coloured Robert Jackson's Quiet Moment with my pencils, cut and layered it and added it to the bookmark. The bookmark was completed with the magnets.

Here is my bookmark:

And here it is in action:

Remember, when you are making a bookmark: Keep it simple with minimum embellishments and no sticky edges! That can damage your books!

Do come and join us at Jackson's Digital Expressions! There is a Month Long Challenge on the go.

Revealed!

Welcome!

This week is my first week on the Design Team at Jackson's Digital Expressions!
I'm am very exited to be on the team!

Robert Jackson has a wonderful collection of digital images, some real fun ones and some really beautiful images. I'm already enjoying playing with what I have received! Do visit the shop and feast your eyes!

The first card I made is a card in the CAS style. I'm using Robert Jackson's Vintage Hat V. I coloured it with my pencils (Various, watercolour and regular). I blended it lightly to keep the idea of texture on the hat and the jacket. The image was then layered on mirror board and royal blue card.

The background was created by using Penny Black Antique Pattern. (circa 2000!) inking it and stamping second and third impressions, not pressing very hard. That is to give that sort of faded, worn look, I hope. (LOL). Well, you can decide on this one.

I also added some beads on a piece of nylon thread that I wrapped around the card. The bottom bead was glued to the card. The beads are quite big, but I just like them with the card and it did remind me of the times when we did wear those large beads. In the end it creates a vintage feel.

The challenge at Jackson Digital Expressions is a Month Long Party where Anything Goes. There are weekly challenges on specific themes and there is a weekly draw for some fabulous images. So do pop over and add your fabulous creation! Hope to see you there

PS. This post is a bit late. I had some issues with my PC...took some time to sort out, also a bit inconvenient. But I'm back online!
